Carlotta McIntosh is a former print journalist with Fairfax suburban newspapers, Australian Associated Press news agency and the Illawarra Mercury. In ‘A Pig and a Tram’ she has made the transition from the 200 word news report to a creative non-fiction account of growing up poor in south-western Sydney in the 1950s.
