A New York City lifer, Ron Singer has also lived, sojourned, written about, and been published in many other cities and countries. For instance, a forthcoming book, The Real Presence (Adelaide Books, 2021), is a novel about Nigeria, the centrepiece of which is the Biafra War (1964-67). Singer served with the Peace Corps in Nigeria from 1964-67, and revisted the country in 2011 to interview pro-democracy leaders for a book about African politics, Uhuru Revisited (Africa World Press, Red Sea Press, 2015).
