Susan Hawthorne

Susan Hawthorne is the author of nine collections of poetry. Earth’s Breath (2009) was shortlisted for the Judith Wright Poetry Prize. Cow (2011) was shortlisted for the Kenneth Slessor Poetry Prize in the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and was a finalist in the Audre Lorde Lesbian Poetry Prize (USA). She has had several residencies including as Asialink Literature Resident at the University of Madras, Chennai in 2009 where she wrote Cow (2011) and some of The Sacking of the Muses (2019). In 2013 she was BR Whiting Library Resident in Rome where she wrote Lupa and Lamb (2014).
